COVID-19 Update:
Out of deep concern for the health and safety of our employees, customers and audio engineers, Allen & Heath USA (American Music & Sound) has initiated a strict travel ban for our staff. Many of our event host partners and local venues have also ceased holding gatherings of 10 or more people out of an abundance of caution.
Therefore we are postponing upcoming Allen & Heath Academy sessions until further notice. Details on events marked as ‘postponed’ will be updated as soon as possible.

Allen & Heath Academy Online
Initially planned to kick off in March 2020, the company’s nationwide in-person Allen & Heath Academy has been put on hold due to COVID-19. Presented by Allen & Heath USA in cooperation with its regional network of independent sales representatives all across the country, the Allen & Heath Academy workshops are based around in-person academy training which lead to official certification and AVIXA CTS RUs.
“We still look forward to getting back out on the road for in-person Allen & Heath Academy training,” notes Allen & Heath USA Live Sound / Touring Manager Michael Bangs. “In the meantime, we listened to dealers and reps who requested an online ‘dLive 101’ level alternative format. After some time designing and putting the online Academy course through beta testing, we’re set to roll it out to dealers soon!”
To request access to the Allen & Heath Academy online certification program, dealers should contact their Allen & Heath sales representative.
Kicked off in 2020, Allen & Heath Academy provides formal training across a broad range of Allen & Heath products and live sound applications. Upon successful completion of in-person academy training and the online testing and certification process, academy students can earn recognition for their achievements as well as AVIXA CTS renewal units (RUs). Allen & Heath Academy courses are offered throughout the US and are presented by trained pro audio practitioners and industry veterans.
Notable among the training staff is featured presenter Michael Bangs, whose 20+ year career includes experiences as a monitor engineer and production manager for A-list acts including Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Katy Perry, Tom Petty, Kid Rock, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. An early advocate of live digital mixing, Bangs assisted a multitude of others in making the transition from analog in the early 2000s. A pioneer in surfaceless mixing that naturally gravitated to Allen & Heath, he built a close relationship with the manufacturer and ultimately joined the company to provide support to those on the road using dLive mixing systems.
